What is National Park ?


National parks are protected areas which are identified as rich in  biodiversity and firmly reserved for the well being of wildlife and biodiversity. The activities like poaching, forestry, grazing, cultivation, deforestation and construction (both residential and industrial) are completely prohibited.

An area with ample ecological significance is declared as a national park by government under law. The national park generally spreads over an area of 100 sq. k.m. to 500 sq. k.m.

There are total 103 National Parks and 544 Wildlife Sanctuaries in India.
